What is Biosystems Engineering?

Autonomous field robot		 When mechanization entered agricultural production, the equipment
and the trade was simply known as farm machinery.

When the area developed to an engineering discipline,
it was known as Agricultural Engineering, a term which is
widely used to this day.

With the expansion of the scope to include areas as aquaculture,
micro algae production in bioreactors, marine production of
macro algae, parks and green areas etc. the term is becoming too specific.

Lots of thought and good ideas have gone into finding a new term for
"Agricultural Engineering". A certain consensus seems to
have settled on "Biosystems Engineering".
